Made With Better Material Choices.

Sustainability starts with what a rug is made from, and with making only what is needed. This is the story of our materials.

Wool, a Renewable Beginning

Wool is grown, not manufactured. It is renewable, naturally resilient and biodegradable, and it holds its beauty for decades of use.

Our New Zealand and Merino wools are chosen for lustre and softness, and they take dye so precisely that colour can be matched to the shade you specify.

Viscose, Used for Sheen

Viscose is a regenerated fibre made from plant cellulose. Blended with wool, or used on its own, it adds the luminous, silk-like depth that gradations and abstracts depend on.

We use it where it earns its place: to make a design shimmer, not as filler.

Econyl® Regenerated Nylon

We use ECONYL® regenerated nylon in our rugs: yarn made from recovered fishing nets, fabric scraps and old carpet, regenerated to the quality of virgin nylon. It is an important solution for the planet.

Only What Is Specified

Every Zevora rug is made to order, by hand, in India. Pile height, colour, scale and fibre are all customised, so nothing is made on speculation and nothing sits unsold in a warehouse.

Natural wool, plant-derived viscose and regenerated nylon, combined in the proportions your project needs: material choice becomes part of the design.

Discuss Material Options for Your Project

Tell us about your project and we will recommend the fibre and pile technique that suit it, and share the information you need about each material.
