Materials

Every Zevora floor begins at the fibre. We choose each material for how it looks, how it feels and how it lasts, then pair it with the pile technique that shows it at its best.

Chosen With Intent

New Zealand Wool

New Zealand Wool

Long-staple fibre prized for its lustre and softness. It takes dye with remarkable precision, so custom colours can be matched exactly.

Merino Wool

Merino Wool

An exceptionally fine fibre with a gentle natural sheen: soft, supple and quietly luxurious underfoot.

Wool & Viscose

Wool & Viscose

The resilience and body of wool with the light-catching sheen of viscose, ideal for painterly gradations.

Viscose

Viscose

A fluid, silk-like lustre that gives abstracts, traditional gradations and bold prints their depth and luminosity.

Silk

Silk

The most refined of fibres: luminous, fine and cool to the touch. Used alone or blended with wool for rugs of exceptional depth.

Nylon

Nylon

Strong and resilient. Nylon resists crushing and wear, which makes it a dependable choice for busy floors.

Econyl® Nylon

Econyl® Nylon

Regenerated nylon made from recovered fishing nets and discarded carpet. It performs like virgin nylon with a far lighter footprint. Econyl® is a registered trademark of Aquafil.

Polyester

Polyester

Soft, colourfast and easy to care for. A practical, economical fibre with a gentle hand and a wide colour range.

Solution-Dyed Micro Polyester

Solution-Dyed Micro Polyester

Colour is added while the fibre is made, so it runs right through each filament and resists fading and cleaning. The micro-fine yarn feels exceptionally soft.

Pile Techniques

Pile height is fully customised on every design. Combine techniques within a single rug to build the exact surface you need.

  • Cut and Loop: close-up of the pile

    Cut and Loop

Cut tufts and uncut loops worked together, setting smooth, velvety yarn beside textured ribs to sculpt pattern and shadow.

  • Loop: close-up of the pile

    Loop

Uncut loops of yarn for a tactile, durable, finely grained surface.

  • Tip-Sheared: close-up of the pile

    Tip-Sheared

Higher loops cut at the tip, leaving a subtle play of cut and uncut yarn.

  • Carved: close-up of the pile

    Carved

Hand-sculpted contours separate pile levels, with crisp relief and shadow lines.

  • High-Low: close-up of the pile

    High-Low

Pile cut at different heights to build dimension and graduated depth.

  • Flatweave: close-up of the pile

    Flatweave

Woven flat with no pile: light, precise and well suited to linear patterns.

  • All-Cut Pile: close-up of the pile

    All-Cut Pile

Every tuft cut for a soft, velvety surface and the richest colour.
